Theater for Change

We welcome students from all parts of Europe. Develop your skills in using theatre as a tool for empowerment and a broader understanding of different cultures and social behaviour. The theatre training has a physical approach and is working with nonverbal expressions and improvisation, aiming towards street performances and Forum Theatre. We are experienced in running and participating in projects within the framework of the EU Youth in Action program. The course is given in English. For more information contact Tim Doolan.

Internationellt utbyte

EVS volunteer 2009-2010 / Jovana Vincic

Where are you from?
- Belgrade, Serbia.
What did you do before you came to Sweden?
-I studied pedagogy and in the last few years I´ve been involved in the work of Centre for Interactive Art “In Stage Organization”, a youth theatre organization from Belgrade.
How come you applied to be a volonteer at Teater Arken?
- Last summer I was in Teater Arken and took part in a youth exchange. So after all nice impressions I decided to apply as a volunteer.
What do you “know” about Sweden?
- Jens Lekman lives in Sweden, it’s enough! In last period I´m discovering Swedish music and I liked it. Also, one of my dearest slam poet, Ana Jörgensdotter is from this country. So, the biggest reason is art. Swedes eat an interesting trappist cheese with a butter and orange jam.
What do you expect of your stay in Sweden?
- I’d like to learn more about theatre work and visual medias. I´m interested in Swedish culture and of course the language. So far I can´t say that I´m good in Swedish. This is a nice opportunity to get some new friends as well.
What’s your plan for the future?
- I suppose that experience from here would have a great impact in my professional work and my personal life. Right now I´m not sure in which direction my future activities will go but as soon as I get a clue, I´ll update this session.
